CPAs
team up to provide services through new office
Emily
Bologna-Gallego whose career as a Certified Public
Accountant began in 1988, and Eileen Sullivan, who has offered
CPA services in Amador County for 25 years, are now assisting
clients at an office at 235 New York Ranch Road,
Ste. C in Jackson.
Sullivan,
who earned her master’s in business administration
at the University of California, Los Angeles, moved to Amador
shortly afterward. “I wanted a change from L.A. and
I wanted to be more a part of the business community,”
she said. Sullivan provides state and federal income tax
and accounting services to individuals, families, trusts
and estates and also prepares court accounting for trusts
and estates. She considers her membership in the Amador
Society of Tax Professionals “invaluable. We have
about a dozen members and we keep in touch with each other
on tax issues and aspects we encounter in every day tax
practice,” she said. “In a small practice, it’s
always helpful to get second and third opinions. Emily and
I both value that membership.” Sullivan can be reached
at 223-3331.
Gallego
launched her career with Coopers & Lybrand in Detroit,
a company which later merged into Price Waterhouse. The
company put her through graduate school and she received
her CPA certification through Coopers & Lybrand. She
also attained a master’s in tax (MST). Gallego
moved to California in 1994 and worked with Price Waterhouse
Coopers before becoming director of a regional firm for
several years. She had her own firm in Fremont for four
years prior to moving here last year when she purchased
Bob Devlin’s practice.
“I
offer a complete line of tax and accounting services especially
to small business clients,” Gallego said. “I
specialize in planning the complete process which could
include a corporate partnership, an LLC, whatever type of
return. The planning between the business and the individual
is extremely important with the intent of minimizing the
tax and maximizing the return. I absolutely love what I
do,” she added.
Gallego
is also a member of the Amador tax professionals and the
San Jose chapter of the California Society of CPAs where
she served as treasurer. “It’s really important
for professionals to get together on what kinds of problems
we have with software or problems encountered during the
tax season,” Gallego remarked. She
can be reached at 223-2069 where she is
assisted by Nancy Pezzi.
Both
CPAs are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. and by appointment. While they share office space,
their practices are separate.
